Hebden Bridge eh? That whole area's a hotspot. My nan lived there in the 70s and always said she saw weird stuff in the sky. Have you noticed any patterns with timing or weather conditions?

This is actually not as mad as you think. There's legitimate research about how our perception shifts based on weekly cycles - melatonin levels, serotonin dips, circadian rhythm disruption, etc.
I actually grew up near Rendlesham. My uncle was in the RAF and he always said the 1989 incident happened but got shut down hard by higher-ups.
Mate, I live not far from there and I've heard similar stories from locals. Nobody talks about it much but it's definitely something people have experienced. Where exactly near the stone circle?
I've been working my way through various paranormal documentaries lately and I'm struck by how many of them are basically just promotional material for the paranormal as fact.
the psychological impact of being in genuinely spooky situations At 15 he's old enough for this, but maybe start in locations that are spooky but not terrifying?

I'm not an expert on cryptids. I'm not even sure I believe in Bigfoot. That's actually the best position to be in for reporting something like this.

The theory about spirits needing electrical energy is kind of bollocks, to be fair. But silent sessions can still be useful because you hear things you'd otherwise miss - footsteps, moving...
Welcome aboard! Just a heads up - ask away with your questions, but maybe avoid the Government Cover-Ups forum for your first week. Some of those lads can get a bit... intense.

This might be the daftest post I've ever made but I genuinely want to know if other people notice this. Every single Monday morning, the world feels fractionally 'off' to me.
This is genuinely interesting research but I'd be careful about the 'witnesses have been erased' narrative - it can slide into territory that gets a bit paranoid.
Cheers for the honest review. I've been looking at EMF detectors and getting confused by all the options. For someone just starting out, this seems sensible.

is a DIY one going to be accurate enough for actual ghost hunting Honestly, most commercial EMF detectors are overpriced gadgets anyway.
Did you report this to any official channels? Just wondering because I've heard some people have had their data flagged or something. Probably paranoia but thought I'd ask.
Yes! Please post the parts list. I'm not great at soldering but I reckon I could manage basic assembly. How reliable is it compared to the proper Mel-meters everyone goes on about?

This is straight-up Rendlesham Forest type stuff. Not quite as dramatic but the mechanism is similar. Electromagnetic interference causing vehicle systems to malfunction.

Ben Nevis is high enough and remote enough that something substantial could theoretically survive there. The climate's harsh but possible.

Aberdeen's got quite a history of this sort of thing actually. There've been several UFO sightings reported in the area over the years, including some quite credible ones.

Did you see anything unusual in the sky or nearby before or after the incident? Any lights, strange sounds, feeling of being watched?
