Cheers for the proper review, mate. This is exactly what I needed to read. I've been torn between the 8SE and the Dobsonian for about six months.
We do silent sessions at most of our investigations and they're usually the most productive periods. Whether that's placebo or actual paranormal response, I genuinely don't know.

Honestly, teaching him critical thinking is the best thing you can do. Teach him to question what he sees, to look for explanations, to understand bias.

Most Sasquatch sighting clusters seem to happen in autumn - lots of eyewitness reports from September through November in places like the Highlands near Cairngorms.
Make it fun and social, not obsessive. If he sees it as a hobby you do together sometimes, rather than something to pursue obsessively, he'll probably be fine.

I tried this exact thing two years ago and the Arduino kept giving false positives near anything electrical. Fair play for trying but I'd just save up and get a proper meter.

You're onto something here, but I'd look at it from a different angle. The 1980 incident was alien contact.
