I've kept records too and honestly I see more activity during the longest nights of winter (late December through January) than the equinoxes.

Don't do a marathon session. Seriously. The energy drain is real and if you exhaust yourself during solstice when the veil is thin, you're vulnerable.

Moved with this strange kind of loping gait, nothing like a bear or any animal I could identify. This detail interests me because it's specific and it's not something you'd typically describe...

Could easily be sleep paralysis combined with the midnight sun effect confusing your sense of time. Near Loch Ness you'd also have all the folklore and local stories in your head, which can...
There's actually a decent history of Bigfoot/Sasquatch sightings in the Scottish Highlands. People don't talk about it as much as the American stuff, but there's definitely a body of anecdotal...

I'm not going to tell you you're lying, but I will say that the Cairngorms get decent wildlife - red deer can stand very tall when on their hind legs, and in certain light conditions and at...

Have you filed a Freedom of Information request asking why access is restricted during those specific periods? The MOD technically has to provide justification.
I actually think some of the better documentaries do raise interesting questions, even if they're not conclusive.

Recorder: Olympus LS-P4 (around £180 on Amazon) - absolutely brilliant, records WAV format which is better for EVP analysis than MP3.

To be fair though, sometimes the real explanation IS interesting. I read about a 'haunted' hospital ward where people kept seeing shadows and feeling dread.

With the winter solstice coming up on December 21st, I'm putting together a comprehensive beginner's investigation kit.
The autumn equinox coincides with harvest season which meant more gatherings and deaths in medieval times (childbirth complications, accidents, etc).

Please tell me you're going to make this database public when it's finished? Would be brilliant to have a proper digital archive of Black Shuck sightings with dates, locations, and descriptions.

I'd recommend getting your carbon monoxide detector checked. Seriously. Undetected CO poisoning can cause hallucinations, disorientation, and sleep disturbances.

The magnetic sensitivity is interesting because that's a common post-abduction symptom. Have you had that checked by a doctor?

For technique: try asking very specific questions rather than open ones. Instead of 'is anyone here?' try 'what is your name?' or 'how did you die?' Spirits seem more likely to respond to direct...
Heaton Moor or the moors near Colden Valley? Just trying to get a geographical sense of where this happened.

I'd love to know which specific section this was. The older tunnels under King's Cross are supposedly extensive - some connected to historical stations that don't exist anymore.

There was a 'haunted' cottage down in Dorset that everyone was convinced had poltergeist activity. Doors slamming, objects moving. Turned out to be subsidence.
If they were genuinely suppressing paranormal investigation they'd do it quietly, not restrict access to an entire forest.
