Hi everyone, new to Quirk Reports and absolutely buzzing to have found this community! I've lurked for ages but finally decided to join because I need some advice from people who might actually believe me.

So on Halloween night (31st October last year), I was driving back from a rave near Hebden Bridge across the Yorkshire moors. It was about 2:47am, pitch black, proper foggy. My mate was asleep in the passenger seat. I saw this shape cross the road - humanoid but way too tall and the movement was all wrong, like its joints bent backwards. It looked at the car as it crossed and I swear its eyes reflected my headlights like a cat's would. I nearly crashed.

I've been reading about Skinwalker Ranch stuff and I'm wondering if what I saw was something similar? Or am I just sleep-deprived and paranoid? My mate didn't wake up and when I tried to tell people they just laughed it off as a deer or something. Anyway, looking forward to discussing with people who don't think I'm mental!

Welcome to the forum mate! What you're describing sounds like it could be a few things - the Yorkshire moors have quite a lot of cryptid activity reported. The backwards-bending joints thing is interesting because that's a very specific detail and not something most people would imagine on the spot. Have you had any other experiences since then, or was this a one-off?

The eyeshine thing is the giveaway for me. Most cryptids aren't supposed to have that reflective quality. Could've been a very tall person on stilts tbh. There's a surprising amount of weird theatre groups that operate at night in remote areas as part of performance art pieces. Not saying that's what it was necessarily, just worth considering!

Welcome! Don't worry, you're in good company here. The Yorkshire moors have a proper reputation for strangeness - Spring-heeled Jack was reportedly spotted all over that area back in the day. Your description reminds me of some Slenderman-type encounters I've read about. The important thing is that you saw something that genuinely frightened you. Have you noticed anything odd since? Any strange dreams or electrical problems?

Heaton Moor or the moors near Colden Valley? Just trying to get a geographical sense of where this happened. The reason I ask is that area has some really interesting ley line activity according to local researchers. Might be worth checking if your sighting location aligns with any known energy points.
