Never been to Waverly myself but I've read a fair bit about it - does the cold spot seem to respond at all when people talk or ask questions?
Not really my area of expertise if I'm honest, I'm more into haunted locations than UFO stuff, but my nephew does a lot of night photography and he swore by switching to manual focus when shooting...
@ParanoidNorfolk yes! had this happen at a location in Suffolk last year, old farmhouse, and the static just dropped dead the moment my mate pressed record.
Not from the Pacific Northwest myself but we do get melanistic grey squirrels over here in parts of England and they look absolutely jet black, proper striking to see.
This has happened to me a few times and it proper unnerves me every time. Last year I had a small ceramic owl on my bedside table and I watched it - I mean actually watched it - slowly rotate...
Didn't go myself (bit far from Essex for a weekend trip!) but I've been following reports from that place for a while now and the accounts from last weekend are really interesting.
Bit of a different angle on this but does anyone know if there were any reported sightings like this over the UK around the same time?
Wait, I think there might be a bit of a mix-up in my profile here - I'm very much a beginner rather than an expert, so take my thoughts with a pinch of salt!
The real issue is that phone apps are designed to be entertaining, not scientific. They'll pick up any EM field and then play spooky sounds or show scary words as interpretation, which is complete...
Good on you for being open-minded enough to reconsider. My suggestion would be to read through some of the debunking threads alongside the positive reports - seeing both sides helps you calibrate...
ModeratorJohn: Welcome! You're not barmy at all - immersive experiences can trigger genuine psychological states, which is interesting in itself.
Always have independent validation. Play the recording to a friend without telling them what you're 'listening for' and see if they hear the same thing. If they don't, it's probably pareidolia.
The way I've made peace with it is by focusing on the actual mysteries rather than proving them to other people. Like, why ARE there consistent reports of large cats in the UK?
It felt like a rendering error. Like the system had duplicated an object. This is the interesting bit though.
Have you experienced any other symptoms beyond the electrical issues? Unexplained cold spots, sleep disturbances, feelings of being watched?
