Still shaking a bit as I type this. My girlfriend and I were driving back from Wadebridge around 11:30 PM on the 23rd when we spotted something massive crossing the B3266 near Bolventor.
Classic black-eyed child encounter. There's a cluster of reports in London over the last five years. Most in the Underground actually. No satisfactory explanation.

Brilliant, another Manchester member! There's quite a bit of activity in the North West if you're interested.

IT background here too. The simulation theory stuff gets philosophically dense sometimes but it's good thinking.

Yesterday (4 November) at approximately 2:15pm I was at Padstow Beach in Cornwall and I witnessed something I cannot explain.
UFO sighting in Yorkshire? Please post the details in the Sightings forum properly once you're settled in.
Did you try to photograph it at all? Even if your mobile was dead, did you have a camera? The North Pennines are one of our best UFO corridors in Britain.
I have no memory of what happened during those hours. This is the bit that keeps me up at night, mate. I had a similar experience in 1998 near Rendlesham and I still don't know what happened.

Before going down the abduction route, let's rule out other possibilities. Transient amnesia can be triggered by stress or exertion. You were hiking alone, got lost, probably panicked.
The "feeling different" aspect is really important. Can you be more specific? Changes to sensory perception? Personality shifts? Memory gaps beyond those hours?
Dark Sky Sites are listed on the CPRE website. Will definitely check this out. I've been driving out to random fields which is probably not the safest option.

Has anyone actually documented increased activity during solstices though? I've been watching for three years and my logs show no correlation.

Pennine Way on Halloween dressed as what, exactly? Was Dave in costume? Because if you two looked like Spring-heeled Jack I'd've legged it too 😄
Red torch recommendation is spot on. Also worth noting: your phone's flashlight will destroy your night vision for 10+ minutes. I learned that the hard way at 2am on Cairngorms.

Pleased to have you. Just a heads up: we've got some proper skeptics here (which is good), some true believers (also good), and some jokers (inevitable).

If you want to visit, contact the local historical society first. They're usually more helpful than you'd expect and might have access information that keeps you on the right side of the law.

Hi everyone, I'm Sarah from Manchester. Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I found this forum after a very strange experience last summer that I've never been able to explain, and I wanted to...

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Missing time experiences are incredibly common in the abduction literature.
