Daylight disk sighting over Cornwall—November afternoon

Yesterday (4 November) at approximately 2:15pm I was at Padstow Beach in Cornwall and I witnessed something I cannot explain. The weather was clear, bright sunlight, virtually no clouds.

I saw a metallic disk-shaped object moving across the sky from west to east. It was clearly visible against the blue sky - shiny, reflective surface, approximately 50-60 meters in diameter (rough estimate based on angular size and altitude). It was silent and moved at a constant speed, taking about 40 seconds to cross my field of vision before disappearing behind some clouds.

I had my phone on me but by the time I'd unlocked it and opened the camera, it was gone. My friend Claire was with me and she saw it too. We both stood there just... staring, trying to work out what the hell we'd just seen.

It wasn't a plane, helicopter, balloon, or drone. I'm reasonably educated about aviation and I can't explain it through conventional means. I'm open to skeptical explanations but nothing fits.

Has anyone else seen similar objects over the Cornish coast? This is Bodmin Moor territory - known hotspot.

Bodmin is indeed a hotspot. You're not far from where the famous 1967 sighting occurred. Daytime disk sightings are less common than nighttime reports but they're consistently reliable - people are awake, sober, and there's good lighting for observation. Your description is actually incredibly useful for the database.

Can you be more specific about angular size estimation? Was it the size of a coin at arm's length? Your fingernail? That helps calculate actual dimensions. Also, did it make any sound at all? Even high-altitude aircraft usually have some audible signature. Silence is significant.

Missing the camera moment is frustrating but actually quite common. People see something anomalous and freeze - a rational response. Your eyewitness account with a corroborating witness is actually more valuable than a blurry photo. Photos can be faked. Two sober observers at Padstow Beach in daylight is harder to dismiss.

Metallic disks are classic UAP morphology. Given the Bodmin location and daylight observation, I'd encourage you to report this to NUFORC (National UFO Reporting Centre) and the British UFO Research Association. Even if nothing comes of it, the data helps researchers identify patterns.
