Hi everyone, I'm Sarah from Manchester. Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I found this forum after a very strange experience last summer that I've never been able to explain, and I wanted to find people who might take me seriously without thinking I'm barking mad.

I'm really interested in learning more about paranormal activity and UAPs, but honestly I don't know where to start. There's so much information out there it's overwhelming. Are there any good intro threads or recommended resources? I've heard of Rendlesham Forest and Borley Rectory but that's about it.

Looking forward to chatting with you all. Any tips for a newbie?

Welcome! Great to have you here. Start with the pinned threads in Sightings & Reports - they'll give you an overview of common patterns. After that, I'd recommend the Books & Documentaries section. The podcast 'Mysterious Britain' is brilliant and won't make you feel like you're on the fringe. What was your summer experience, if you don't mind sharing? That might help us point you toward the right resources.

Brilliant, another Manchester member! There's quite a bit of activity in the North West if you're interested. Rendlesham Forest (Suffolk, 1980) and Borley Rectory (Essex, haunted house) are good historical cases to read up on. But also check out modern stuff - there's been loads of interesting reports over the last few years. Have a poke around, don't feel pressured to share your experience until you're ready.

Fair warning: you'll find skeptics here, believers, jokers, and everything in between. That's actually the best thing about this forum. We debate rigorously but stay respectful. If someone's being a knob about your experience, report it to the mods. We don't tolerate bullying.

Welcome to Quirk Reports! Take your time settling in. The community is genuinely lovely. I was terrified to share my first experience but everyone was supportive. You'll find your people here, I promise.
