Missing time on the Scottish Highlands—what happened to me?

I'm still processing what happened to me and I need to write it down, even if it sounds completely unbelievable. This occurred on 23 August 2023, around 9pm near Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands.

I was hiking alone (I know, foolish) and I got separated from the main path. Checked my mobile - 9:14pm. I was trying to retrace my steps when I saw this bright orange light in the sky, hovering about 100 meters away. It wasn't an aircraft, helicopter, nothing conventional. My first instinct was to run.

The next thing I remember clearly is sitting by the roadside at 11:47pm, nearly 3 kilometers from where I'd been. Two and a half hours missing. My mobile had no record of calls or messages during that time. My watch had stopped at 9:16pm and the battery was completely drained.

I have no memory of what happened during those hours. No physical marks or injuries, but I feel... different. Mentally. Like something is just slightly off in my head. I've had flashes of images but I can't articulate them. It's like trying to remember a dream that slips away the moment you wake up.

Has anyone else experienced missing time? What should I do?

I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Missing time experiences are incredibly common in the abduction literature. The fact that your watch stopped and your mobile battery drained is significant - that's electromagnetic interference again. Have you considered regression hypnosis? There's a therapist in Edinburgh who specialises in alien contact experiences. I can provide a recommendation if you want.

The "feeling different" aspect is really important. Can you be more specific? Changes to sensory perception? Personality shifts? Memory gaps beyond those hours? Some researchers believe that experiences of this kind can have lasting neurological effects. You might want to see your GP about the mental symptoms, even if you don't mention the UFO component.

Before going down the abduction route, let's rule out other possibilities. Transient amnesia can be triggered by stress or exertion. You were hiking alone, got lost, probably panicked. That alone could cause missing time. The light could've been a helicopter or drone. I'm not being dismissive - I'm being systematic.

I have no memory of what happened during those hours.
This is the bit that keeps me up at night, mate. I had a similar experience in 1998 near Rendlesham and I still don't know what happened. The uncertainty is worse than knowing, honestly. Whatever you decide to do, you're not alone in this.

Please consider reporting this to the local authorities, even if you think they won't believe you. You were missing for hours and that's a safety concern. There might be search records or witness accounts that could help fill in the gaps. The police take missing persons seriously, regardless of paranormal context.
