Hi all! I'm new to the forum and very glad to have found a community that takes this stuff seriously without being completely unhinged. I've been interested in paranormal phenomena for years but always felt a bit isolated talking about it - most people think you're mad if you mention anything remotely unexplainable.

A bit about me: I'm based in Yorkshire, I work in IT (hence why glitches and simulation theory appeal to me logically), and I've had several personal experiences I can't explain. Nothing dramatic - strange coincidences, odd electromagnetic incidents, a possible UFO sighting from my garden last month - but enough to convince me there's something genuinely weird going on.

I'm hoping to learn from people here, maybe eventually contribute properly to investigations or research. I've got a fairly skeptical mindset even about my own experiences, which I think is healthy. Looking forward to getting involved. Any recommendations for which forums to start in?

Welcome! Great to have another Yorkshire member. We're fairly active up north. I'd recommend starting with 'Sightings & Reports' to get a sense of what the community discusses, then maybe 'Simulation Theory & Glitches' given your IT background. Don't jump into the more intense forums until you've got the vibe of the place.

Pleased to have you. Just a heads up: we've got some proper skeptics here (which is good), some true believers (also good), and some jokers (inevitable). Read posts carefully before responding - some people have strong opinions about everything from EVP methodology to whether cryptids even exist. It keeps things honest.

UFO sighting in Yorkshire? Please post the details in the Sightings forum properly once you're settled in. We're genuinely trying to track sighting patterns and your location + date could be significant data. Welcome aboard.

IT background here too. The simulation theory stuff gets philosophically dense sometimes but it's good thinking. There's definitely something to the idea that certain phenomena behave like software glitches. Keen to hear your UFO story.

Hello and welcome! Just a friendly tip: include as much detail as possible when posting experiences (date, time, location, weather, witnesses). The more specificity we have, the more seriously evidence gets treated. Looking forward to reading your contributions.
