This is brilliant intel. The "floating lantern" description keeps coming up in the primary sources but gets glossed over in documentaries.

Thermal imaging is honestly the future of this stuff. So much better than relying on eyesight or trail cameras.

Right, important PSA for the community here. We've had an increase in journalists and documentary teams contacting members through the forum, and I want to make sure everyone's aware of a few...
Welcome! Great to have another South West member. I'm in Cornwall and there's definitely a cluster of us scattered about.

Random thought here, but there's been some speculation that the new private owner of the Borley Rectory site might be open to paranormal investigation teams getting access.
There's also evidence that some of these sites were aligned to stellar positions that have shifted due to precession. If you account for precession, some alignments become even more precise.

Mate, I hate to be that person but "family stories" are basically the paranormal equivalent of hearing something down the pub.

I'd add: keep a proper notebook. Not just sketches, but weather conditions, temperature, barometric pressure, lunar phase, everything. Over time you'll see patterns.

I'd be more interested in the *why* beyond agriculture. Yes, tracking seasons is practical. But why build monuments? Why align them so precisely?
I'd be cautious about the "humanoid proportions" interpretation. In 1992 terminology, that could mean anything from "triangular shape" to "resembled a flying object shaped like a person" - very...
