Honestly, being on the Underground at night does weird things to perception. I've had similar experiences - that uncanny feeling.

Used FLIR is your best bet honestly. The E4 is limited but perfectly functional for paranormal work - most anomalies show up as temperature differential anyway, you don't need professional-grade...

Could've been a trick of the light? The Northern Line lighting is notoriously dodgy, especially between stations. Reflections get weird when you've got fluorescent tube failures.

Could've been flares from a military exercise. The MOD does low-level ops over the Pennines fairly regularly.

Mate, the Underground is absolutely rammed with weird stuff. I worked down there for British Transport Police for 8 years and you wouldn't believe what gets reported that never makes the news.

Right, I'm looking to upgrade my investigation kit without spending an absolute fortune. Currently I'm using a standard digital camera with infrared filter and a couple of decent torches, but I'm...
Welcome! Just a tip - there's a sub-forum specifically for family stories and generational experiences. Might be worth cross-posting there once you've introduced yourself.

The Underground is genuinely interesting for paranormal reports - there's documented history of unusual experiences in various stations.

Absolutely welcome here! Your balanced approach is refreshing. Lots of us have similar family stories - they're often the hook that gets people into this stuff.

Jamaica Inn is close by and worth a look if you're in the area - proper paranormal history. The moor itself is beautiful but honestly less 'haunted' than people think.
