Not my sadness, if that makes sense. Someone else's grief. That actually makes complete sense. Some people are more sensitive to emotional imprints from locations or entities.

The 3:17 AM thing is actually really common in paranormal reports. There are various theories about it (demonic significance, significant time of death, etc.) but honestly, I think it's just when...

Did he take the newspaper with him? That's the detail I'm most curious about. If he actually vanished, what happened to the newspaper?

would I just end up with an expensive gimmick? Probably, to be honest. Not because DIY is bad, but because EMF detection's already pretty contentious.

The whole Borley thing's a good lesson in how paranormal investigation should actually work: take historical reports seriously, but don't just accept them.

the energy of the place is genuinely odd Energy is a meaningless word in this context. You felt an atmosphere - which is probably down to you knowing the location's history and expecting something...

Been doing a lot of investigation work across the Pennines this year, and I've invested in a couple of different thermal imaging devices.
Good breakdown. I'd add that you should always establish baseline readings for your location first. Record EMF levels before anything's happening, then you know what's normal for that environment.
The Borley Rectory story has been partially debunked by modern researchers - a lot of the "phenomena" was exaggerated or misreported.

Never investigate alone - you'll just spook yourself. Ha, guilty as charged. I went solo to an old cottage in Yorkshire once and absolutely terrified myself.

Borley's a perfect example of how legend and genuine experience get tangled together. Harry Price definitely faked some stuff, but that doesn't mean nothing was ever there.

The Piccadilly Line has a seriously weird history. There's loads of documented paranormal activity there.

The Northwest had loads of activity in the 1990s - Rendlesham's in East Anglia but that wasn't isolated. There's definitely something about this region that attracts aerial phenomena.

No one said anything. Very London. This genuinely made me laugh. Perfect summary of experiencing something impossible on public transport in London.

Did you report it to TfL? Might be worth mentioning in case there's actually an HVAC issue. But yeah, the temperature thing's probably mechanical.

The 2009 release was basically strategic - they let out just enough to seem transparent without actually revealing anything useful. Classic misdirection.
Your wife's spot on that it's hilarious, but also - good luck explaining this to anyone not involved in paranormal communities. You're making the right choice coming here first.
