This has been happening for about three weeks now, every night around 2-3am. I live on the edge of the Yorkshire Moors (near Hebden Bridge) and I keep hearing what sounds like singing or chanting...
I'm naturally quite skeptical Fair enough but keep in mind that 'skepticism' often just means 'I don't believe' rather than actual scientific skepticism.

Go during the day, enjoy the walk, take some photos. It's a beautiful spot historically. But manage your expectations.
Could've been another urban explorer in the building who you didn't realize was there. Someone in costume or just wearing old clothes?

That's not normal bureaucratic procedure, that's active suppression. Or it's exactly normal bureaucratic procedure mixed with Cold War paranoia.

Funny because it's true. Though I'd argue you've missed 'it's probably the military testing new tech' which I swear appears in roughly 40% of threads. Still, well done. Made my morning.

Good on you for being upfront about your approach. The thing about this community is we've got genuine skeptics, genuine believers, and loads of people in the middle.

It's a nice walk and the view is good but if you're expecting to commune with the executed, you'll likely be disappointed. This is the thing though - absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.
This is absolutely brilliant. Got me at 'Have you considered swamp gas?' in a box with about 47 arrows pointing to it. Saved this to my desktop, I'm showing my wife tonight.

Rendlesham Forest is the smoking gun though. Multiple witnesses, military personnel, physical evidence reported at the time. Then suddenly it's all classified and forgotten?

Welcome Emma! Honestly, you're already doing it right. Just ask genuine questions, listen to people's experiences, and engage with the content.
Hi everyone, I'm new here (obviously). Found Quirk Reports through a Reddit thread about paranormal communities and I've spent the last few hours reading through various threads.
Actually had a genuinely unsettling experience there about three years back. My partner and I were hiking down around dusk (bad idea, I know) and we both heard what sounded like multiple people...

Right, I've been lurking here for about three months now and I've noticed we essentially have about 6 arguments that repeat endlessly.

Have you got photos? Those could tell you a lot. Sometimes things that look weird to the eye show up differently on camera, which points to optical illusion.

That said, shared experiences are worth taking seriously. The fact that you both saw it at the same time is significant. Did you check the building properly?

This is where I have to push back. You say you're a skeptic looking for experiences, but you've framed Pendle Hill as 'dark' based on historical events. That's confirmation bias setting you up.

I went up there about four years ago on a proper miserable November evening. Cold, damp, very moorish. Honestly felt nothing unusual at all.

Come on, this is how government works. Boring answer but true: records get lost, procedures change, bureaucrats process requests by saying 'can't discuss.' Doesn't mean aliens, usually means...
The dimensionality angle is interesting though. There's genuine scientific discussion about interdimensional physics (theoretical, not proven).
