Right, I've been lurking here for about three months now and I've noticed we essentially have about 6 arguments that repeat endlessly. Someone sees a light in the sky, a believer goes 'UFO!' and a skeptic goes 'Chinese lantern, mate.' So I've made a flowchart. It's a bit rough but I reckon it covers 87% of our threads.

Mods, if this breaks any rules, fair play. But I'm genuinely convinced this is what we're all thinking anyway. Let's have a laugh at ourselves, eh?

This is absolutely brilliant. Got me at 'Have you considered swamp gas?' in a box with about 47 arrows pointing to it. Saved this to my desktop, I'm showing my wife tonight.

Funny because it's true. Though I'd argue you've missed 'it's probably the military testing new tech' which I swear appears in roughly 40% of threads. Still, well done. Made my morning.

Nice work but this is exactly the kind of dismissive nonsense that makes skeptics look bad. People are reporting genuine phenomena and you're turning it into a joke. Some of us take this seriously.

Mate, if we didn't laugh about it we'd all go mad. I believe in the paranormal, genuinely do, but this flowchart is funny because we DO keep having the same conversations. Nothing wrong with that.
