Right, so I submitted an FOIA request to the MoD about three months ago regarding their UFO investigation protocols and what actually happened to the physical evidence from major incidents (Rendlesham Forest, Bentwaters, etc.). I finally got a response and it's... underwhelming.

They've released 47 pages of basically 'we can't discuss operational matters' and 'records were destroyed per standard procedure.' Nothing substantive. The Rendlesham incident happened in 1980 and we're STILL getting stonewalled about what they actually found or analysed.

What I want to know: does anyone genuinely believe the government investigated this stuff seriously? Or is this the standard runaround? Are we being deliberately obfuscated or is there actually nothing there to find?

The MoD's been consistent about one thing - refusing to comment on national security matters. Whether that's because they found something interesting or because there's just nothing worth commenting on, who knows. But the complete lack of transparency does fuel suspicion.

Come on, this is how government works. Boring answer but true: records get lost, procedures change, bureaucrats process requests by saying 'can't discuss.' Doesn't mean aliens, usually means incompetence and outdated filing systems. Occam's Razor and all that.

Rendlesham Forest is the smoking gun though. Multiple witnesses, military personnel, physical evidence reported at the time. Then suddenly it's all classified and forgotten? That's not normal bureaucratic procedure, that's active suppression. The government absolutely knows more than they're saying.

Or it's exactly normal bureaucratic procedure mixed with Cold War paranoia. The MoD was worried about Soviet aircraft and other terrestrial explanations. Doesn't mean they covered up aliens, just means they were cautious with military intelligence.

Have you tried requesting specific documents rather than general protocols? Might get better results. Also check the National Archives direct - some stuff filters through there eventually. The process is glacial but it works better than MoD FOIA sometimes.
