SarcasmMaster: The real paranormal activity is the friends we made along the way. 👻
TruthSeeker77: Or - and I'm just spitballing - maybe the skeptics could let people share their experiences without immediately demanding peer-reviewed papers? Not every post is a scientific claim.
Simulation theory explanation: Rendering error. The system spawned an object, deleted it, re-rendered it too quickly for the engine to handle seamlessly. You witnessed the visual artifact.
I took some photos up there last summer that I genuinely couldn't explain at the time. Turned out it was just a reflection off my lens.

Have you done any formal investigation or just anecdotal feeling? EMF readings, temperature mapping, audio recording?

PubScienceNerd: I work in wildlife photography and people are absolutely terrible at judging what they see through trees. Had a woman convinced she'd photographed a panther in Devon last month.

genuine cryptids (if they exist) would likely be intelligent enough to avoid them Right so we've moved the goalposts to 'it's so clever it avoids all evidence of its existence.' That's...

FilmAnalysis_Mark: The Patterson-Gimlin film is brilliant misdirection either way. If real, it proves nothing about current populations. If fake, people use it to dismiss all other evidence.

This is exactly the kind of self-critical thinking this community needs more of. We treat Victorian ghost stories like empirical evidence.

I've hiked Bodmin Moor about a dozen times and never seen anything unusual. Plenty of foxes, some very large dogs, interesting shadows.

The obsession with Borley is partly nostalgia. It was the foundation of modern ghost-hunting in Britain. People got invested in the legend.
FunnyBunny_Lou: You forgot "I've got anecdotal evidence from a paranormal Facebook group with 50 members." and "The government is covering it up, which is why I'm telling everyone on the internet."

The lack of good photos is actually the strongest indicator that it's probably just big cats (escaped from collections or released by owners) and our brains doing the rest.

The reference to Skinwalker Ranch is suspicious. The ranch's secret military involvement wasn't public knowledge until relatively recently. If this memo is genuine, it confirms what we suspected.
TruthSeeker_Naz: Every time someone has a weird experience, the skeptics show up with their "actually it's just neurology." Yeah, we know the brain is capable of wild things.

'dimensional incursions' and 'interdimensional entities' This terminology didn't exist in official military documents in 1976.
