@AlekseiWendigo yeah the terrain angle is massively underrated in discussions about this case. people forget how brutal Devon countryside can be in February, especially overnight.
The red torch thing is genuinely good advice. Used that method for years during night investigations. One tip: get a decent quality red filter, not the cheap plastic film.
