Hadn't heard much about the Howler for years then suddenly three separate reports in the last few months, all from around the Arkansas/Missouri border area.
@ClaireOrb your gut always knows, that's the thing. I've done EVP sessions at 3am specifically because of that window and the results are different to any other time, noticeably so.

Done a fair bit of EVP work over the years and what strikes me about Sauchie is that the sounds weren't random - they seemed almost responsive, like something was reacting to being observed.
Nice one, welcome aboard. Honestly your best investment is joining one of the Yorkshire paranormal groups - there's some good ones - because you can borrow kit before buying.
Could've been a grouse or some other bird doing a mating call? They make proper strange noises that sound almost mechanical. The temperature drop though - that's interesting.
