Genuinely interesting that you've brought this up because I've been going through a load of BEK accounts lately and the ringing sensation crops up surprisingly often in those reports too, not just abduction cases. Like it seems to be some kind of precursor or trigger sensation that shows up across multiple categories of encounter.
Not sure what to make of it mechanically. Some researchers point to infrasound affecting the inner ear, others go straight to the electromagnetic field disruption angle. I lean toward the EMF explanation personally but I'm only just getting into this stuff so take that with a pinch of salt.
Did the ringing come on gradually or was it more sudden? And was it both ears or just one? I've noticed in the accounts I've been reading that single-ear onset seems to get reported more than bilateral, which I thought was odd. Would be really useful to compare notes if anyone else has had this firsthand.
