This happened around 1 AM on 29 October (yes, Halloween weekend, I know how it sounds) at King's Cross station.
The merchandise stuff is probably the real annoyance. But that's not the community being bad, that's just capitalism doing what it does.

Disagree with you a bit. I joined about eight months ago after seeing the site recommended on a paranormal podcast and the community's been incredibly helpful.

I genuinely don't think it's changed that much. Yeah there's more noise but filter by thread type and reputation - the experienced posters are still here sharing good stuff.

I'd avoid Pendle Hill if I were you. Not because of ghosts, but because you'll have about 200 hikers there on a Saturday and your spirit box will pick up their mobile phone signals for hours.
Lmao this is the most Reddit thing I've ever read on Quirk Reports. 'Why does winter road maintenance happen in winter?' is not the conspiracy you think it is.
This is actually interesting. I've noticed similar patterns around Stonehenge - extra police presence around solstice dates, cordoned-off areas.
Should I be doing salt lines, blessing the space, or is that all a bit too woo-woo for serious investigation?

The thread about sleep paralysis and how to distinguish it from actual paranormal encounters was probably the most useful thing this year.

Why do they always close the roads on winter solstice? Have you considered that winter IS when roads deteriorate most? Ice, salt damage, freeze-thaw cycles?
Mate, you've cracked it. I work for National Highways and I can categorically tell you it's just because winter causes loads of potholes and we batch repairs together. Nothing sinister.
Every online community goes through this cycle. You get niche, dedicated community, it gets more popular, quality dilutes, original people leave, new niche forms somewhere else.

Pendle Hill should be crackin for that. Loads of activity reported there over the years. Skip the salt lines unless you're actually getting something aggressive - most of the time it's just the...

Right, this has been bugging me for years. Every December around the 21st, there's roadworks or 'emergency maintenance' on the A66 near Penrith, same stretch every single year.
For me it's been the podcasts and documentaries people have recommended. Found some genuinely professional investigative work through this community that I'd never have discovered otherwise.

Have you lot noticed the shift over the past few months? Used to be we'd get genuinely curious people who wanted to discuss unexplained phenomena thoughtfully.

Got one about 6 months ago and honestly, mate, it's been decent but not revolutionary. The filtering is definitely better than the old white noise boxes.

Winter investigations hit different. The cold seems to amplify the weirdness somehow - maybe just because you're more alert, maybe actual environmental factors.

Right, so I've just invested about £180 in one of those newer SB7 Spirit Boxes after my old digital recorder packed in.
Honestly the best discovery was realising how many total fantasists are on here and learning to spot the patterns.
