Not saying there's definitely nothing paranormal happening, but you're right to look for logical explanations first. Basements in old London buildings are inherently weird - cold, damp, creaky.

The Pennie Panther, some people call it. There's been sporadic sightings for about fifteen years. Mostly along the Calderdale Way.

The footprints are the weak point here, mate. Any photo? Footprints in soil or snow are easy to fake or misidentify.

First things first: get a surveyor and a pest control company in. Cornish cottages can have all sorts of issues - subsidence, timber movement, rats in the walls.

Those vocalizations are interesting. What exactly did they sound like? Deep roar, more of a howl, repetitive pattern? That's actually a crucial detail.

Good move. Some of my best conversations have been with skeptics because they ask the hard questions that make us believers actually think about what we believe and why.

Has anyone experienced something similar? My flatmate reckons it's subsidence or miceMice don't move kettles, so your flatmate's already eliminated the most boring explanation.
The hard truth is EVP sits in this uncomfortable middle ground. It's probably not all pareidolia - people do seem to capture something on tape sometimes. But is it spirits?

The thing that gets me is the level of detail in some of the witness accounts. Colour, movement, the way it defied gravity. That's not just 'lights in the sky' - that's specific observations.
Is the flat old or new? Islington's got some Victorian stock, yeah? Old buildings settle differently depending on temperature and humidity.

I'm in Carmarthen and we get weird stuff over the Beacons regularly. The military base at St Athan tests all sorts.

That's not evidence of extraterrestrials, that's just evidence of something unusual. Exactly right. And 'something unusual' is actually what we should be investigating, rather than jumping to...
Peter Haining's research is decent on this, though even he admits you hit a wall. There's enough weirdness to say 'something was happening' but not enough clarity to say 'what.' Which is...
The thing is, Skinwalker Ranch might not be one thing. Could be geological (magnetic anomalies causing hallucinations), could be classified military testing, could be actual paranormal.

This is exactly why people don't take the paranormal seriously. We're out here spending eighty quid on kit to measure electromagnetic radiation as if ghosts are going to follow the laws of...
Right, so I went a bit mad and organized a small expedition into the Scottish Highlands back in September. Just me and two mates, three nights camping near Cairngorms.
You've hit on the core problem. The honest answer is 'yes, and also yes.' Some cryptid sightings are definitely misidentifications. The big cat sightings in the UK?

How do the experienced folks on here distinguish between genuine contact and basically just matrixing? We don't, not really. But I'll tell you what I've found: context matters.
I managed to get one photo on my telephoto lens Please share it! Even if it turns out to be a big dog or something mundane, this community loves a good analysis.

Mate, this screams poltergeist to me. The 3am timing especially - classic activity window. Have you checked for gas leaks?
