I genuinely think we'll never have "proof" because proof implies objectivity, and the paranormal seems to operate on observer-dependent rules.

The honest answer is that EMF detection as a paranormal tool is pretty dodgy. It was originally supposed to detect ghosts based on this theory that spirits create electromagnetic disturbance, but...

I felt a hand on my shoulder. Not a push, not aggressive. Just a hand. This is actually a really common report type. Non-threatening physical contact.

Bodmin has genuinely weird energy. I've been there loads and had strange stuff happen - not physical contact, but definitely unusual feelings, sounds that don't match any animal I know.

I used to use dowsing rods and I genuinely believed they worked. Then I did a blind test - marked spots on a map, dowsed without seeing the marks, then compared results. Completely random.

Love that Rendlesham stuff. The 1980 incident is properly fascinating. Would absolutely want to see this footage, and if your mate's serious about investigating, there's a local group that's been...

The FLIR's older but probably more robust. Seek's more trendy but the build quality on FLIR is genuinely better. Depends if you want newer tech or something more reliable.

The problem with dowsing is it's indistinguishable from random selection. If you're getting anomalies at 60% of spots, that might just be 60% baseline anomaly rate in the locations you're...

I'm going to sound absolutely mad, but I need to report this because it's the first time anything's actually touched me and I don't know what to do with that.I was out on Bodmin Moor on the 14th...
A ghost that could interact with my bank account. Steal from my overdraft. Then everyone'd care immediately and scientists would be all over it 😂

This might be controversial on here but I've been experimenting with dowsing rods during investigations and I'm getting consistent, repeatable results that I can't attribute to coincidence.Here's...
The London Underground genuinely has a lot of activity reported. Old stations that have been closed, various incidents over the decades.

would you just move the goalposts? This is the thing though innit. You can't win. Show a video, people say "CGI." Show witnesses, people say "mass hysteria." Show scientific readings, people say...

I've been ghost hunting for about three years now and my biggest frustration is distinguishing between actual paranormal electromagnetic disturbance and just...
This is exactly what the DIY section should be for. Practical stuff people can actually use. Massive respect for publishing your code openly rather than gatekeeping it.

Can he check if there were any reported power outages that night? Or interference on other equipment? If it was something electromagnetic, other systems might've registered it too.

I've got the Seek and honestly it's brilliant. Clear image, battery life is solid, intuitive software.

Tunnel lighting on the District line is pretty abysmal in places. Combined with movement of the train you were on, or another train elsewhere in the tunnel, you might've been seeing shadows cast...

Right, I'm finally investing in a decent thermal camera for investigations and I'm torn between the Seek CompactPRO (about £350) and a used FLIR C2 I found (about £300, bit older but specs look...
it was tall, completely dark (like, darker than the shadows around it), and vaguely human-shapedThis is exactly how shadow people are typically described.
