I'm going to sound absolutely mad, but I need to report this because it's the first time anything's actually touched me and I don't know what to do with that.

I was out on Bodmin Moor on the 14th of April, about 7 PM, with my boyfriend and his brother. We were taking photos for his Instagram (I know, I know - "ghost hunting for clout," but we genuinely go up there because we think it's beautiful and sometimes weird stuff happens).

We were near the old tin mines, and it was getting dark. I felt - and this is going to sound mad - I felt a hand on my shoulder. Not a push, not aggressive. Just a hand. I spun around and there was absolutely nobody there. My boyfriend was about ten metres away taking pictures, his brother was even further off. And the moor is pretty open there, nowhere to hide.

When I told them I'd been touched, they both got really serious and said we should leave. We did leave, immediately. No argument, no "let's investigate," just packed up and left.

I'm not an especially sensitive person. I've never had paranormal experiences before. But I felt something solid touch me in a place where nobody was. What even is that?

Bodmin has genuinely weird energy. I've been there loads and had strange stuff happen - not physical contact, but definitely unusual feelings, sounds that don't match any animal I know. There's a reason local legends are so strong about that place. You're not alone in having experiences there.

This is actually a really common report type. Non-threatening physical contact. There's a lot of cases in paranormal literature - Borley Rectory had accounts of gentle touching, various haunted locations have it. The fact it wasn't aggressive is notable. Some suggest it might be trying to communicate rather than harm.

Could have been an animal? Deer or a wild pony startling you from behind? Bodmin's got both and they're unpredictable. Your adrenaline's up, it's getting dark, and you spin around. Easy to miss something that's already bolted.

This is exactly the kind of report I find most credible, oddly. It's not spectacular, there's no dramatic narrative arc, your boyfriend and brother didn't immediately start acting like it's the greatest discovery ever. Just genuine confusion about something unexplained. I believe you had an experience. Whether it's paranormal or not, something happened that you can't explain, and that's interesting.

Did you feel anything else? Temperature drop? Smells? Electrical sensation? Any other physical sensations besides the hand itself? Those details matter for building a picture of what happened.
