What happens if someone posts an obvious hoax though? Like, genuinely clearly fake? Do we still have to treat it seriously?Because I've seen some photos on here that are obviously doctored and...

I picked up the new edition of 'The Haunting of Britain: A Comprehensive History' (Penguin, £16.99) at Waterstones because it looked comprehensive.
Good call. The quality of discussion in those forums has been declining for months. Too many people just showing up to "win" rather than actually investigate. This might actually make things better.
Go during the actual sunrise on solstice day, not the night before. The crowds are slightly more manageable and honestly the light hitting the stones at dawn is properly magical.

I had the Mel Meter for two years and sold it on Facebook for £120. Honestly? Best purchase I ever made was ditching it. Got myself a decent digital thermometer and a proper camera instead.

This is why I don't get excited about historical UFO cases anymore. They're always just out of reach - the evidence is always damaged, lost, classified, or destroyed. Convenient, innit?

There ARE contemporary reports from the incident, just not video footage in the way you're imagining.

I'm posting this a few weeks late because honestly I wasn't sure if I should say anything, but several people have asked me about it and I think it's worth getting on the record.Last Halloween...
The winter solstice period does supposedly have thinner barriers between worlds according to various spiritual traditions, though that's more about the cycle of the year than just darkness.

Good idea actually. You'd probably want both astronomical dates (solstices, equinoxes, lunar phases) and cultural/historical ones (Samhain, Beltane, etc) with the caveat that these don't...

Sleep deprivation absolutely messes with your perception. Your brain's running on empty and gets hyperactive trying to make sense of random stimuli.

The readings seem legit when I'm near electrical stuff, but how do I know I'm not just getting interference from literally everything in 2024?You've basically answered your own question, haven't...

This is unfair though. The people working at the Ranch aren't necessarily being cynical. They might genuinely believe weird stuff is happening and be documenting it as best they can.

I'm not one for posting these things, but I genuinely can't explain what I saw and it's doing my head in.
I don't think that's an unpopular opinion, I think that's just the obvious truth. Skinwalker Ranch is entertainment, which is fine - it's entertaining - but pretending it's serious paranormal...

Pendle's brilliant any time of year but honestly the winter solstice up there is absolutely freezing and visibility is rubbish after about 3pm.

I'm thinking of heading down to Stonehenge for the summer solstice this year and I'm trying to work out if it's actually worth battling the crowds or if it's become such a tourist circus that any...

I'm going to say this quietly because I know it'll wind people up, but I think Skinwalker Ranch has basically become a paranormal theme park at this point.

Right, so I'm planning a bit of a winter solstice jaunt up Pendle Hill in Lancashire next month and I'm wondering if anyone's got experience visiting the place during the darker months.

Alright, after about six months of moderating the Photo/Video Analysis and Personal Encounters forums, we've noticed a pattern that's making those spaces less useful:When someone posts what they...
