That said, the tube is definitely a hotspot for sightings. Shadow figures, people who vanish, that sort of thing.

The Underground has a particular quality at night - it's designed for crowds, so when it's empty it feels wrong.

I bought a £25 one from Amazon (Meterk brand if it matters). It works, detects fields, but the needle bounces around constantly.

They'll detect electromagnetic fields - that's not magic, they actually do that. Problem is: literally everything emits them. Your phone, your WiFi router, your wiring, power lines.

Right, I'm looking to get some basic equipment together for casual investigation but I'm not about to spend £400 on a meter I'll use three times.
The footsteps being on a schedule is the key thing to investigate. Document everything - weather, whether your parents slept well, what time the central heating cycled, whether there were storms,...

Get your boiler serviced. Seriously. New boiler or one that's starting to have issues can make awful noises on a timer, cause vibrations, sometimes even move lightweight objects through resonance.
I work late shifts and sometimes catch the night tube home around 1:30-2am. Tuesday night I was on the Piccadilly Line, train was nearly empty, just me and maybe four other people spread through...
Is there anything I should be doing differently? And be honest - am I wasting time or is this actually worth investigating? You're not wasting time if your family is experiencing it.

The white ladies are documented in like... what, three sources? One of which was a Victorian ghost story writer with a reputation for making stuff up.

The ghost probably goes to Tesco on Tuesdays for meal deals. Fair play really.

The moving objects thing is what gets me. That's harder to explain with normal causes. Stuff doesn't just migrate from one place to another.

My grandmother lived near Pendle and used to say the locals never went up there after dark, said the atmosphere was "wrong." Not saying she's proof of anything, but generational knowledge counts...

Or and hear me out... your mate's just not home on Tuesdays and when he's not there he doesn't notice the activity because there's no one to open doors or whatever. Occam's Razor innit.

This is actually interesting from a pattern perspective though - if there IS something happening in his flat, anomalies in the pattern are worth noting.

The routine aspect is genuinely interesting. Rats and drafts don't follow schedules like that. They're random.

I quite like it as a story even if I don't believe half of it. Nothing wrong with enjoying paranormal content as entertainment rather than truth-seeking.

Your mate's ghost has clearly negotiated better terms and conditions than most of us living people. Should ask for tips on negotiating with management.

I'm posting this because I need to know if I'm going insane or if what's happening in my parents' house in Yorkshire is actually worth investigating properly.Timeline: Around May 2023, doors...
Okay so I'm genuinely asking this as a joke but also... is it possible a ghost has a schedule? Because my mate's flat in Croydon has had activity every single night except Tuesdays for the past...
