Okay so I'm genuinely asking this as a joke but also... is it possible a ghost has a schedule? Because my mate's flat in Croydon has had activity every single night except Tuesdays for the past eight months. No exceptions. Tuesday comes round, absolutely nothing, then Wednesday morning the doors are slamming again.

Either his ghost is incredibly conscientious about work-life balance or... I dunno, has a standing booking at a different haunting venue? Maybe it's moonlighting in Thornton Heath on Tuesdays?

Your mate's ghost has clearly negotiated better terms and conditions than most of us living people. Should ask for tips on negotiating with management. Maybe it's just tired Tuesdays, fair enough innit.

This is actually interesting from a pattern perspective though - if there IS something happening in his flat, anomalies in the pattern are worth noting. Could be electrical grid maintenance, could be cosmic rays, could be the ghost's actually scheduled another gig. Worth keeping a log?

Or and hear me out... your mate's just not home on Tuesdays and when he's not there he doesn't notice the activity because there's no one to open doors or whatever. Occam's Razor innit.

The ghost probably goes to Tesco on Tuesdays for meal deals. Fair play really.

@WarwickshireOwl makes a solid point actually - observer bias is probably the most boring but most likely explanation here.

That said, I've been logging anomalies at a site near Avebury for about three years and there are genuine temporal patterns in the data. Not weekly, more seasonal and tied to specific lunar phases. Whether that's environmental interference affecting the equipment or something stranger, I genuinely can't say yet.

So I wouldn't completely dismiss the Tuesday thing if the data holds up under scrutiny. What's your mate actually recording - just personal observations or has he got anything objective? Temperature logs, audio, anything like that? Anecdotal patterns are interesting but they're not really worth much without something to anchor them to.

The Tesco theory is obviously correct though. Meal deal at 3am, classic liminal behaviour.
