Loch Ness has always been a hotspot. There's supposedly some kind of underground geological activity that creates unusual electromagnetic fields. Could be that's attracting these things.

The mists are real - I've photographed them multiple times in autumn. Could be natural fog or could be something else.

Borley's haunting was almost certainly exaggerated by local folklore and the investigator's own biases.
