Location: Near Loch Ness, approximately 3km north of Urquhart Castle
Date: August 14th, 2024
Time: Approximately 21:15 (dusk, still twilight)
Duration: Roughly 2-3 minutes
Witnesses: Myself and my partner

We were camping near the loch and stepped out of the tent to look at the sky - it was absolutely clear and we were hoping to catch some of the Perseid activity. That's when we both noticed an object moving across the northern sky. It was initially stationary, then it moved with sudden directional changes that seemed to defy conventional aircraft physics. No sound at all, which is significant because we were in remote enough territory that we'd definitely have heard a helicopter or plane.

The object appeared metallic, reflecting the last of the daylight. It was roughly triangular in shape, though the edges seemed to shimmer. Colour was predominantly silver with what looked like amber/orange lights around the perimeter. It moved north and just seemed to vanish rather than disappear over the horizon.

We've both worked in aviation and are pretty good at identifying conventional aircraft. This was not a plane, helicopter, or drone. The manoeuvrability was genuinely anomalous. I've got the location pinpointed on a map if that helps.

Excellent report - really detailed and methodical. The Scottish Highlands have had quite a few UAP sightings over the years. The triangular shape with lights is consistent with several other reports from the UK. Have you submitted this to NUFORC or the British UFO Research Association? They maintain a proper database and they might be able to cross-reference it with other sightings from that date.

Did you manage to get any photos or video? Even blurry footage is valuable for establishing credibility and ruling out conventional explanations. The shimmer you describe is interesting - could suggest some kind of cloaking or electromagnetic distortion field.

Loch Ness has always been a hotspot. There's supposedly some kind of underground geological activity that creates unusual electromagnetic fields. Could be that's attracting these things. Your description of the movement patterns is exactly what you'd expect from a craft using unknown propulsion. Definitely something genuine here.

Triangle-shaped UAPs are usually military aircraft - likely a Eurofighter or similar. The "impossible" manoeuvres are often just perspective tricks when you're watching from the ground at twilight. The amber lights are pretty standard for night flying. Not saying you didn't see something, just that there's probably a conventional explanation.

This is exactly the kind of sighting that deserves proper investigation. The consistency between you and your partner's accounts and the specific details about the shimmer effect are what make this credible. If you get any follow-up experiences, definitely keep logging them.
