This could be several things: allergic reaction triggered by something in your environment (even on a delayed cycle), self-harm during sleep (real phenomenon), or something more unusual.
Post the video footage. Without visual evidence, this is just an anecdote, no matter how credible your friend sounds. I'm not saying he's unreliable - but documentation is everything in this field.
