Something genuinely non-terrestrial. Or something genuinely terrestrial but technology we don't know about. Military black projects can do weird things.
Did you check for tracks? That would be the most objective evidence. If you saw what you're describing, there would be footprints in the soil or disturbed vegetation in the direction it went.
Alternatively: you experienced a fugue state or temporal lapse. Your conscious memory created a 'person' to fill in the missing information. The brain does this - it's called confabulation.
