Red headtorch is smart. I've been doing this for five years and I'd add: bring hot drinks and warm clothes. Seriously. You can't observe properly if you're freezing.

Your 70/30 estimate seems reasonable. Though I'd add a third factor: social media algorithms. If you engage with one paranormal post, your feed fills up with them.
