Honestly, for £300-400 you're better off putting it all into a decent audio recorder and thermal camera, skip the EMF meter for now. A FLIR ONE thermal camera is about £200 and genuinely useful.
This is actually interesting but you're assuming cryptids exist in the first place, which is a pretty big assumption.

Yorkshire's got some brilliant sites that don't get much attention compared to Stonehenge et al. The Twelve Apostles near Ilkley, various moor circles - loads of potential.

I've been thinking about cryptid reports across the UK and the pattern's quite interesting. Most sightings cluster around established wild areas - moors, forests, coastlines.
Have you considered that you might've had a panic attack? Solitude + darkness + meditation can sometimes trigger dissociative episodes.

So I'm thinking of starting some proper ghost hunting investigations - nothing too ambitious, just local allegedly haunted pubs and historical sites. But I'm genuinely lost on equipment.
Welcome! Glad you finally posted. The lurker-to-poster journey is real. Your stone alignment question is genuinely interesting - GPS can be surprisingly inaccurate depending on terrain and signal,...

Price's research is worth reading despite his flaws. He documented phenomena methodically, even if he sensationalized conclusions.

I'm more interested in the 'no memory' part. Missing time is a classic phenomenon in UFO abduction reports, but it also happens with dissociative disorders and just regular sleep deprivation.
Be aware that private land ownership means you technically need permission to investigate. The Church has been protective of the site.

felt coordinated. Felt intentional. This is the subjective experience part that's hard to verify. Our brains are brilliant at pattern-matching and assigning intentionality to things.

Can we also talk about how every single article has to use the word "X-Files" within the first three sentences? Every time. Without fail. It's like a legal requirement.

I've been cataloguing these media disappearance incidents for about three years now and there's a genuinely interesting cluster around anything touching Rendlesham specifically.

One technical suggestion: temperature fluctuations can affect electronic equipment's performance. Winter cold might be making your recording device more or less sensitive depending on the model.

The coverage situation in the US isn't much better to be honest, it's just that they have more outlets so the serious stuff is slightly less buried.

was the haunting somehow tied to the physical building itself? This is the key question that most hauntings don't answer. Is the phenomenon tied to location (land) or structure (building)?

Orkney's got some brilliant sites too. Ring of Brodgar and the Standing Stones of Stenness. Up there in June the sun barely sets - it's the 'simmer dim' period - so solstice alignment works a bit...
Have you checked if your watch actually works properly? Phone's got the time as well - did you note that before getting on too?
