The voice recorder is a good start! Before you buy an EMF meter, spend some time doing EVP sessions and documenting what you're experiencing. That'll give you baseline data to work with.

Great question. My experience: wait 2-3 weeks after media coverage dies down. The immediate aftermath is chaos - foot traffic, contaminated evidence, people's expectations are unrealistic.

Quick question that I think doesn't get discussed enough: how do you investigate a location effectively after it's been covered by the media?I'm thinking specifically about sites that have had...
If you do manage to get access on an official tour, bring audio recording equipment and thermal imaging if you can.

The new documents are actually interesting from a historical perspective - you can see how the military handled potential security breaches, what their procedures were, how seriously they took...
The issue is that 'paranormal' is almost by definition outside the mainstream scientific establishment.

anything paranormal happened - the documents don't prove something paranormal happened because there is no 'paranormal' to prove.

which ones are worth investigating - none of them, probably. The real paranormal hotspots are usually rural locations or places with documented traumatic events and ongoing activity.

They quoted me once about a sighting in the Peak District and claimed I was 'convinced aliens were monitoring my house.' I said I'd noticed unusual activity - could be drones, could be wildlife,...

Right, I need to vent about this. The Daily Mail ran a headline yesterday: 'ALIEN ABDUCTION EPIDEMIC SWEEPS YORKSHIRE MOORS: Are You Next?' Absolute scaremongering nonsense. The article mentioned...
Honestly, I think we need a few high-profile scientists to publicly support paranormal investigation without reservation.

Try 'The Skeptical Paranormalist' - it's written by someone who actually engages with paranormal reports but analyses them properly.

This is what happens when people get invested in a narrative. The Rendlesham case became culturally significant ages ago - it's the 'British Roswell' - so now every document release gets...

Is anyone actually reading academic analysis - probably not many of us, if I'm honest. Most people interested in paranormal stuff want the mystery and the spookiness, not a 200-page statistical...

you don't exactly bring it up down the pub, do you? Actually, you'd be surprised how many people are interested in this stuff once you mention it.

Pendle's got solid reported activity across multiple decades and different witnesses, so I wouldn't totally dismiss the possibility.

Upload the video. The number of people on here claiming they've filmed UFOs but mysteriously never posting the evidence is genuinely ridiculous. If you've got footage, share it.

You're not missing anything. This is standard hype cycle - someone releases documents that are already mostly known (or heavily redacted), paranormal forums and YouTube channels get excited,...
