Did you get any photos? Video? That's the first question anyone's going to ask. Without evidence it's just an anecdote, no matter how genuine you think you are.

The interesting angle is less 'are these ghosts?' and more 'what's happening in human perception that makes us interpret random noise as meaningful?' Actual paranormal research angle is probably...

The folklore angle is interesting though. A lot of aggressive lake monster myths come from genuinely dangerous situations - deep water, cold temperatures, unknown depth - that people rationalise...

The circular mark is interesting. Have you taken a photo of it? Can you describe it in more detail - raised skin, discolouration, texture? And when exactly did you notice it?
So Borley Rectory is obviously one of the most famous allegedly haunted locations in Britain, and I've always wanted to visit.

I've done EVP recording for years and I'm honestly agnostic about whether it's paranormal or not. But I've gotten recordings that are genuinely unexplained - not spooky necessarily, but difficult...

has anyone done actual rigorous testing of EVP claims? Not in any way that's found convincing evidence, no. Every controlled study shows null results.

Pro tip from someone who's been doing this five years: buy a decent secondhand thermal camera on eBay rather than a new one. You can get older models for £80-100 that work fine.
Did you get any photos? Got to say, without evidence it's difficult to distinguish between a large feral dog, an escaped lynx or puma, or a genuine undocumented big cat population.
Ilkley's a proper hotspot for reports. There's been sightings there for decades. Whether it's an actual surviving wild population or escaped pets is genuinely unclear - probably a mix of both.
Could've been Chinese lanterns, mate. Loads of people let them off round here. They can form odd patterns if they're released together.

Mate, that sounds like a medical emergency or a mental health crisis, not a UFO encounter. Unexplained missing time that long could indicate a dissociative episode, a seizure, or something...
There's a book called 'Talking to the Dead' (or something similar) that goes into the science. The short version: EVP recording is basically a form of modern divination.
Spirit box is honestly a waste of money unless you're committed - save that for later if you want it.Hard disagree.

Right, so I was having a fag on my balcony about twenty minutes ago (22:45, clear night, decent visibility) and saw what looked like three lights in a perfect triangle formation moving silently...
I'm posting this because I genuinely don't know what else to do and this community seems like the only place that won't immediately dismiss me as bonkers.Last Wednesday night (17th November,...
