Just spotted something odd over Manchester - anyone else see it?

Right, so I was having a fag on my balcony about twenty minutes ago (22:45, clear night, decent visibility) and saw what looked like three lights in a perfect triangle formation moving silently across the sky heading northwest. They weren't a plane - too slow, too silent, and the way they moved was... weird. Almost like they were hovering then suddenly accelerating.

My mate Dave was inside but came out when I shouted. He saw it too, confirmed the triangle thing. We watched for maybe two minutes before they just vanished. Not descended, not flew off fast - just gone.

I know how this sounds. I'm not one of those people normally, but I can't explain what we saw. Anyone in the Greater Manchester area see anything unusual tonight? Any ideas what this could've been?

Could've been Chinese lanterns, mate. Loads of people let them off round here. They can form odd patterns if they're released together.

That's always the preface before someone posts about aliens lol. Seriously though, did you consider military aircraft? RAF does training runs all the time. The 'triangle formation' could just be perspective.

Mate, I'm in Stockport and I saw EXACTLY this last month. Same triangle, same silent movement. Never got an explanation. You're not mad. Have you checked the UFO sighting databases? There's usually a flurry of reports when these things happen.

Did you get any photos? Video? That's the first question anyone's going to ask. Without evidence it's just an anecdote, no matter how genuine you think you are.
