Right so first thing - what colour was it? That's always the detail that gets overlooked in these early reports but it tells you a lot.

The red torch tip is spot on. I use a headtorch with red filter mode. Also - keep a star chart handy. You'd be surprised how many "sightings" are just people not recognising Venus or Sirius.

Spring-heeled Jack vibes. Seriously though, check your local records - Pendle has had unexplained creature sightings since at least the 1800s. You might not be the first.
