Right, I've been a lurker for ages but I need to get this down somewhere before I convince myself I imagined it. Last Saturday (15th Nov) me and my girlfriend were walking near Pendle Hill in Lancashire around 4pm. It was already getting dark, bit misty, proper atmospheric.
We heard this sound - honestly like nothing I can describe properly. Not quite a howl, not quite a scream. My girlfriend grabbed my arm and we both just stood there. Then we saw it move through the trees about 50 metres ahead. Bipedal, definitely. Taller than a man, broad shoulders, moved wrong somehow. Not like a bear or deer, which was my first thought. The way it moved was fluid but also jerky if that makes sense?
We did the sensible thing and walked quickly in the opposite direction. Got back to the car in about 10 minutes but I swear it followed us through the treeline. No jokes, I've checked Borley Rectory reports and local folklore but nothing quite matches. Has anyone else had encounters in the Pendle area?
