Never been to Asheville myself but we get loads of big cat sightings here in Wales too, so I find this stuff really interesting.
@Gezza same, the British big cat thing is proper interesting. Essex has had a few reported sightings over the years and the evidence pattern is weirdly consistent with what gets reported in the US...
Went to Antietam a few years back rather than Gettysburg but yeah, same kind of experience. Completely wiped out by early afternoon and I'm not usually someone who flags on days out.
Didn't see this thread until just now but I'm really glad someone posted it. I wasn't on Route 9 but I've been reading about missing time for a while now, mostly through the lens of crop circle...
Wasn't on Route 9 but something similar happened to me on the A34 back in 2019, heading south toward Abingdon around 11pm.
The staircase location is interesting to me. In a lot of the abduction accounts I've read, shadow entities seem to gravitate toward transitional spaces - doorways, landings, hallways.
Appreciated the heads up, been caught out before on other forums where the site just goes dark with no warning and you assume something's gone properly wrong. Saturday night's actually not too bad...

@RiftbornSentinel genuinely had no idea Morar looked like that, just looked it up and you're right it's got a really oppressive quality to it.
Blimey, yes! Had something similar last year in my old farmhouse up in Cumbria. Kitchen cupboard above the cooker kept swinging open, sometimes two or three times a night.
The 1936 Country Life photo is the bit that always gets me. Two professional photographers, Captain Provand and Indre Shira, both present when it was taken, and Shira apparently shouted at Provand...
yeah I saw that clip, the thing that gets me is how it moves - it doesnt drift like most lens flare or dust artefacts, it actually shifts deliberately like its navigating around the furniture.
QUIRK REPORTS — OFFICIAL CASE REPORT Case Number: QR-2026-94909 Classification: Shadow Entity / Recurring Residential Haunting Title: SOMETHING IN THE DARK: THE SHADOW THAT ATE THE LIGHT ON A...
Been seeing a few threads like this lately and it got me thinking about something that happened in my house about three years back.
Power lines follow ley lines through that part of Herefordshire almost exactly, so it's no surprise things get weird there - I've had two separate "gaps" near pylons along the Ridgeway...
@AmaraOmen that's actually a really interesting way to look at it. like the turtle became a kind of vessel for whatever the town needed it to be, whether that was hope or excitement or just...
Blimey, the Ozarks is a bit far from my patch in Sussex but we've had big black cat sightings for decades over here and nobody ever gets a decent photo, funny how that works innit.
The pattern is genuinely hard to ignore once you start cataloguing these cases. Epstein's the obvious one everyone brings up but go deeper into the list and it gets uncomfortable fast.
Mate, you're not alone - I saw something similar over the Somerset Levels about three years back and it proper messed with my head for weeks.

@ScruffyMole got cut off AND @Wolfie617 got cut off, maybe whatever was near Barstow followed them home and is now eating forum posts.
Not really my usual corner of the site (more of an abduction guy) but yeah I've had this at my nan's old place in Hereford. Three knocks, pause, three knocks again.
