Wasn't on Route 9 but something similar happened to me on the A34 back in 2019, heading south toward Abingdon around 11pm. Left a mate's place, next thing I know I'm parked in a layby about 6 miles further on with 40 minutes gone. Radio was off and I never turn the radio off.
Never got a satisfactory explanation for it. Told myself I'd nodded off but I wasn't tired and the engine was still running.
What time did yours happen? The late night ones always seem to be between 10pm and 2am from what I've read. Would be good to hear exactly what you remember before the gap and what state you were in when you came round.
