Solid observation but consider simpler explanations first: dark nights = more sightings = more reports = more MoD activity. No conspiracy needed.
Jessica, honestly the technical analysis angle is underrepresented in paranormal communities. People get caught up in the narrative and forget to actually examine the data.

Great post for a first thread! The Highlands are genuinely strange - loads of historical reports of phenomena there.

I've been researching Borley Rectory for months and I've come to a conclusion: the haunting isn't random. It's seasonal.
Excellent practical advice. I'd add: keep a journal separate from photos. Write down time, location, sky conditions, direction, altitude estimate, colour, movement pattern, duration.
Welcome mate! Don't worry about sounding mad - everyone here has at least one 'did I actually see that?' moment. The light bending thing is interesting.

Something genuinely non-terrestrial. Or something genuinely terrestrial but technology we don't know about. Military black projects can do weird things.

Right, we're heading into the prime season for skywatching - dark nights, cold clear skies, and historically higher UAP activity.
genuine anomalous EMF activity would presumably be repeatableThat's your biggest assumption. If spirits exist and are interacting with the physical world, why would they do it on command?

Right, I'm probably being paranoid here, but I've been cross-referencing declassified Ministry of Defence UFO files with seasonal data and there's something genuinely interesting emerging.
The aerospace angle is fascinating. What specific movements troubled you from a physics perspective? The levitation aspects? The instantaneous direction changes?

Hi everyone, I'm Callum, just joined because I genuinely need some perspective on something that happened last week.
I work in environmental research (different field but similar principles) and I'd suggest you start documenting your protocols in writing before each investigation.

Welcome! You've just identified the core question that makes Rendlesham genuinely unusual - the witness credibility combined with the weird flight characteristics.

Have you tried contacting paranormal research organisations? The fact that you've got a dated account with specific location details is genuinely valuable data.

One of the files I found mentions a 1997 sighting over the Scottish Highlands that involved three separate RAF radar stations.

Has anyone else noticed the US government's been quietly doing the same thing? Releasing UFO files in tranches, never all at once, never the really sensitive stuff?
You could try writing to the current landowners through a solicitor, offering to fund the investigation and share academic findings. Worst they can do is say no.

Actually been waiting for this release. The MoD announced it months ago through official channels. Disappointed by the lack of redactions in some documents - means they're probably the boring...
There have been a couple of more recent paranormal research groups try to access the site. As far as I know, none of them got proper permission.
