I've worked in VFX so I know how to spot compositing and this isn't it. That's actually quite compelling. You'd have a better eye than most.

Thermal is better for evidence because cold spots are documented, repeatable, and harder to argue with.

Gearing up for proper investigations and trying to decide whether to invest in a decent night vision monocle (£150-300) or thermal imaging (£200-400 second-hand).
This is either genuine evidence of an unknown species, or you're victims of sleep paralysis and environmental suggestion. Moorland creates natural anxiety - isolation, darkness, weather.

It was definitely your nan messing with you from beyond the veil, mate. Jokes aside, if you're going back, bring a decent camera with flash. These things never photograph well but we need data.

The energy you felt was probably just the standing for six hours and the portable toilets, mate. Ha! Fair point.
Mate, you need to get those prints documented and photographed. Plaster cast them if you can. I'm genuinely interested because Bodmin has a consistent pattern of sightings going back centuries.

You want to know what's mental? The Heel Stone casts a shadow directly onto the Altar Stone at dawn on the solstice. Every single year.
The big cat phenomenon is well documented in the UK, especially in moorland areas. Your description fits the pattern - usually solid black, unusually large, impossible to photograph.
£16.99 for an academic-level investigation into paranormal methodology is decent value. Most paranormal books are either conspiracy fiction or cold dismissal.

I visited Borley in 2011 and it was absolutely mundane. Beautiful old rectory, quiet grounds. Didn't feel haunted at all. But that was summer.

The Battersea sightings have been reported for years. There's something about the Thames corridor that attracts activity. But let's be methodical here.

The energy you felt was probably just the standing for six hours and the portable toilets, mate. I'm a believer in most things but let's not pretend every tingle is supernatural.
Posting this because I genuinely need witnesses to corroborate. I was camping on Bodmin Moor from the 8th to 10th November - terrible weather, dark nights, proper isolated.
Great review. Added it to my reading list. The seasonal pattern is definitely real - whether that means the phenomena are real, our perception changes, or something environmental, remains open.
This is going to sound daft but bear with me. I walk the moors near Haworth most weekends, right? In the last month, I've encountered a jet-black cat on five separate occasions.
This is exactly the kind of analysis that deserves serious investigation. The seasonal correlation you've identified could crack the whole thing open if properly documented.
Three stationary lights in perfect triangle is classic UAP signature, according to declassified US Navy sightings. No balloons maintain that kind of formation. No drones either (battery life).

The current owners report increased activity from October through February. This is key data. Have you interviewed them directly? Do they have documentation - journals, photos, incidents logged?

The conclusion is frustratingly inconclusive. That's exactly why I'd recommend it though. Inconclusive beats misleading. Most paranormal books commit fully to one theory and cherry-pick evidence.
