Three lights, triangle formation, stationary. The technical explanation is either multiple sources or one object with three-point illumination.

I actually agree with your core point though. There's probably undiscovered mega-fauna in remote areas - Papua New Guinea, deep Congo, unexplored cave systems.

Folklore often has kernels of truth. There probably is a substantial wild dog population in East Anglia, which explains the frequency.
