Has anyone looked into whether there are other missing time reports from that same stretch of road? I feel like with CE-IV cases the location itself matters as much as the witness - some places...

Didn't see it myself but my mate in Rotherham sent me a video Thursday night of something similar over the Peak District - three lights in a slow triangle formation, completely silent.

Wasn't in Phoenix but genuinely curious about this because I've been looking into triangular craft sightings a lot lately.

The consistency of reports across different regions and centuries is interesting. You see that pattern with a lot of cryptids.

If you want cheap and cheerful, get a basic digital voice recorder (£20-30 from Argos) and do a control recording with white noise, then one without.

One thing you didn't mention: time management. Investigations past midnight get sketchy because you're exhausted. I usually do 9pm-2am, that's a good window.

Honestly? Invest in a decent noise gate and filters before you invest in expensive microphones. You want to eliminate background noise - fridges, AC units, street noise - as much as possible.
