Woke up to find my bedroom rearranged - still can't explain it

Right, this happened about three weeks ago and I'm still genuinely unsettled. I live alone in a flat in Hackney, nothing too unusual about the place. Went to bed around 11pm on a Thursday night, completely normal evening - watched some telly, had a cuppa, the works.

Woke up at half 4 in the morning absolutely freezing. My bedroom was absolutely rearranged. My bedside table had been moved about a metre to the left, my desk chair was facing the wall instead of the desk, and my laundry basket had somehow ended up in the corner by the window. The door was still locked from the inside, windows hadn't been touched.

I live on the fourth floor, no balcony. I wasn't sleepwalking - I've never done that in my life. No signs of forced entry, nothing stolen. The only explanation I can think of is that I'm losing my mind, but I've checked with my neighbours and nobody heard anything. Has anyone experienced something similar? Would genuinely appreciate thoughts on this.

Mate, have you considered carbon monoxide poisoning? Sounds daft, but it can cause memory gaps and confusion. Might be worth getting a detector checked. That said, the furniture moving is definitely odd if you're absolutely sure you didn't do it yourself.

Classic poltergeist behaviour, this. The rearrangement is often a sign of purposeful activity rather than random chaos. Have you noticed any other phenomena since? Strange noises, cold spots, items going missing?

Did you check if you'd actually consumed anything unusual that night? I once thought my mate's flat was haunted but turned out he'd been mixing his meds wrong. Not saying that's your situation, just... worth considering before you call in the ghost hunters, yeah?

This is genuinely fascinating. The locked door from the inside rules out intruders unless they had serious lockpicking skills. I'd recommend keeping a journal from now on - note any unusual activity, temperature changes, electrical issues. Sometimes these things escalate.

Have you tried setting up a camera? Even a cheap one from Argos. If it happens again, you'll have footage. Also, has anyone else been in your flat recently? Landlord for inspections, cleaners, anyone?
