I'm still processing what happened to me on the 23rd of November, around 19:45, and I'm not sure where to start. I've never posted anything like this before but I need to talk to people who might actually understand rather than dismissing it.

I was driving home from work on the A64 near York. It was dark, clear sky, traffic was light. About 2km east of Stamford Bridge, I saw lights above the adjacent field - three distinct white lights arranged in what looked like a triangle formation, hovering maybe 200 metres up. They weren't moving - just stationary.

I pulled over to get a better look. The lights were absolutely silent, no sound whatsoever, which immediately ruled out helicopter. I watched for maybe 30 seconds, got my mobile out to film, and the moment I did, all three lights just vanished. Not gradually fading, not moving away - just switched off. The field was completely silent after. No sound of jets, no delayed sonic booms, nothing.

The whole thing took maybe 90 seconds from start to finish. I felt genuinely cold during the observation, not the ambient temperature kind of cold - felt like it was coming from inside. Probably sounds mad.

I didn't get the video because I was too stunned. I absolutely kicked myself afterwards. Anyone else experienced something similar? Any advice on what to do with this?

Not mad at all. The silent aspect is common in these reports and genuinely difficult to explain through conventional means. The instantaneous vanishing is also consistent with other sightings. The internal cold sensation you describe is mentioned in a lot of UFO encounter reports - some researchers think it might be related to electromagnetic fields affecting body temperature perception. Have you noticed any unusual symptoms since? Sleep disturbance, marks on your body, missing time?

You did the right thing stopping and observing rather than just ignoring it. Quick question though - were there other cars on the road? Any witnesses would be valuable. Have you reported this to anyone official or just online? The A64 is reasonably well-travelled so there's a chance someone else saw it. Worth checking local Facebook groups or contacting local news (though they'll probably be dismissive).

This happens a lot with these sightings - the moment observation equipment comes out, the phenomenon stops or changes. Interesting pattern. Whether that's coincidence or something purposeful is the debate. Either way, don't feel bad about not getting footage. At least you've got a clear memory and you reported it.

Decent observation. The triangle formation is common in modern reports. Given the location's proximity to RAF Linton-on-Ouse, have you considered military aircraft? They sometimes operate with unusual light configurations. That said, silence would be unusual. Could be a weather balloon or classified drone tech? Not dismissing your experience, just asking the practical questions.
