Why doesn't anyone talk about the Rollright Stones anymore?

Genuine question: The Rollright Stones in Oxfordshire are one of the most atmospheric ancient sites in Britain, right? Older than Stonehenge in some respects. But you barely hear about them compared to all the Stonehenge chat. Is it because they're less touristy, or is there something else?

I visited last summer and the atmosphere was dense. There's a local legend about counting the stones and never getting the same number twice. Have any of you experienced anything unusual there? And more broadly, why do certain ancient sites capture the public imagination while others fade into obscurity?

Rollright Stones are honestly underrated. The King Stone circle is genuinely eerie at dusk. I think they're less famous because they're not as accessible - no visitor centre, no gift shop, just the stones and the fields. But that's exactly why they're worth visiting.

The Menhir Stones legend is wild though. Local folklore says you can't count the same number twice because they're guarded by some sort of entity. Classic liminal space energy. I'd love to see actual research into whether the stones have magnetic anomalies or something that affects perception.

Marketing, honestly. Stonehenge has the mystery and the scale. Rollright is beautiful but less obviously impressive. Also, it's privately owned and restricted, which makes it feel more exclusive but less documented.

They're talked about constantly in pagan and occult circles. Just not on mainstream paranormal forums. There's a reason certain sites attract a specific crowd - Rollright has serious energy if you know what I mean. Wouldn't recommend visiting alone at night, not because of ghosts but because of the humans you'd meet there.
