I'm trying to expand my listening rotation and I'm getting a bit tired of the same old stuff. I've exhausted most of the big paranormal podcasts and I'm looking for recommendations that are actually good - not just people reading Reddit posts or speculating wildly.

My criteria:
- Actual research, not just entertainment
- UK-based or UK-focused content preferred but not essential
- Doesn't take itself too seriously (the ones with zero humour are tedious)
- Reasonably concise episodes (nothing over two hours)

I'm currently listening to that one about classified government incidents but it's getting repetitive. What are you lot enjoying at the moment? And don't @ me with the obvious mainstream ones - I'm after obscure recommendations.

If you haven't found it yet, there's a brilliant small podcast called «Moorland Mysteries» that focuses on paranormal events in northern England specifically. Only about 12 episodes but they're incredibly well-researched. Local interviews, old documentation, site visits. Really high quality.

Not paranormal exactly but «Strange Maps» is fascinating and peripherally related. It's about weird locations and geography which often connects to paranormal activity. Different angle but scratches a similar itch.

I've been listening to a lot of the older episodes of established podcasts. People sometimes miss the earlier seasons because the newer ones get more attention, but some of the deep-dive research from 2019-2021 is genuinely brilliant before everyone got tired and started recycling content.

UK-based or UK-focused content preferred but not essential

This is under-served honestly. Most paranormal content is American-centric. There's a ton of UK material that doesn't get attention because there's less commercial appeal. If you find anything good, report back!
