what paranormal topic would your partner absolutely ban you from investigating?

Following up on the budget post - my partner has explicitly forbidden me from going ghost hunting at a specific location (Pendle Hill) after I got genuinely badly lost there for 4 hours despite having GPS. She's also banned me from speaking to mediums because apparently I 'become insufferable' for weeks after.

This got me wondering what other partners/family members have placed hard restrictions on their paranormal investigation enthusiasts. What's the weirdest ban you've had imposed?

My mate Terry got banned from overnight investigations full stop because he fell asleep in a graveyard and his wife had to get the police to find him. Took three hours.

My wife banned me from investigating alone after I went into an abandoned psychiatric hospital near Nottingham and didn't check in for 12 hours. Wasn't deliberately ignoring her, just got absorbed. But fair play, it was stupid and dangerous. Now I have to text her every 45 minutes or she sends the actual police. It's made investigations less exciting but probably more sensible.

This is brilliant. I'm sorry but that's the best paranormal investigation fail I've heard in ages. Did he at least capture any interesting EVP while he was unconscious? That would almost make it worth it.

My mum banned me from investigating anything that might involve the supernatural before I can 'prove my mental health is stable,' her exact words. Not sure what that means but I suspect she thinks ghost hunting is a early warning sign of something worse. Can't entirely blame her I suppose.

My partner's banned me from contacting any mediums because she thinks they're scam artists (she's not wrong) but also because apparently I spend money I don't have and then feel disappointed for months. She's weaponised my own poor decision-making against me. Effective though.

I'm banned from investigating anywhere near my in-laws' house because I once recorded something odd near their garden shed and spent two months theorising it was a haunting. It wasn't. It was a hedgehog. I have not been allowed to forget this and honestly, probably shouldn't be allowed to.
