Right, I know everyone probably has a 'weird thing I saw' story, but this genuinely unsettled me and I'm hoping someone here can help me figure out what it actually was. I was up on Bodmin Moor last Saturday (the 15th) around 7:45 PM, decent weather, clear skies, good visibility.

I saw what I can only describe as a massive triangular shape moving slowly across the sky from north to south. It wasn't a plane - I know what planes look like - and it was completely silent. The shape was distinct, roughly the size of a football field I'd estimate, dark grey or black, and it moved at maybe 30-40 mph? No lights underneath, no sound whatsoever. The whole thing lasted about 90 seconds before it just... disappeared behind the hills.

I tried to film it on my mobile but the footage is rubbish - too dark, shaky, basically useless. I was alone so no witnesses. I know how this sounds but I wanted to report it properly. Has anyone else seen something similar or knows what this might have been? Military exercise? Drone? Something else?

The silent part is interesting - that rules out most conventional aircraft. The triangular shape though... could be a Stealth bomber. The US Air Force has them based at places like Lakenheath and they do fly over British airspace relatively regularly. They're genuinely silent and roughly the right size and shape. The Bodmin location would actually make sense for that kind of route.

Bodmin Moor gets quite a bit of military traffic actually - there's RAF Prideaux and various training routes from other bases. A dark triangular aircraft moving slowly and silently at that time of evening could very well be military. Doesn't mean it's not unusual (Stealth bombers are restricted to specific corridors usually), but it's probably explainable rather than paranormal.

This is actually a common report detail that's interesting - mobile phone cameras often struggle with low-light situations AND there are reports that some unusual phenomena interfere with electronics. Not saying that's what happened, but if you're going to keep watching the skies, maybe invest in a proper camera with manual settings. Phone footage never convinces anyone anyway.

The 'just disappeared' bit is worth noting. Did it actually vanish, or did it go behind the hills? Because saying it disappeared sounds more dramatic than saying it went out of your line of sight, but they're very different things. If it actually vanished - as in, wasn't there anymore - that's more intriguing. If it just went behind the landscape, that's probably just the Stealth bomber continuing on its route.

Bodmin has a proper history of unusual sightings - worth doing some local research on what's been reported in that area previously. The concentration of sightings can help identify patterns (military routes, known hotspots, etc.). If you're serious about investigating, check the MoD's published flight path information and see if there are any registered routes that pass over that area during that time window.
